With Adobe Reader you can open, read and print PDFs or ebooks, and fill out PDF forms.

Use the Adobe Reader NUIA Extension to read your PDFs in a more unbent way. If you lean back, the Adobe Reader switches to reading mode with optimized zoom level and with all tool- and statusbars hidden. You can also activate auto scroll via speech command or the NUIA Menu. The command "Search In Document" opens the NUIA Dictation Menu where you simply say your search term and trigger a document search with a short "Ok". Afterwards you can go to the respective results via the voice commands "Previous Result" and "Next Result".

Adobe Reader (Standard Menu)
What is this?
  • Close Application: Closes the application.
  • Scroll Up: Scrolls the document up.
  • Scroll Down: Scrolls the document down.
  • Toggle Auto Scroll: Starts/stops automatic scrolling of the document.
  • Cancel: Cancels the NUIA Menu without any action.
  • Search In Document: Opens the NUIA Dictation Menu where you simply say your search term and trigger a document search with a short "Ok". Afterwards you can go to the respective results via the voice commands “Previous Result” and “Next Result”.

What is this?
  • Go To Full Screen: Activates the full screen mode.
  • Exit Full Screen: Deactivates the full screen mode.
  • First Page: Goes to the first page of the document.
  • Last Page: Goes to the last page of the document.
  • Scroll Down: Scrolls the document down.
  • Scroll Up: Scrolls the document up.
  • Go To Page X: Goes to the page specified by X. For example "Go To Page 12".
  • Rotate Right, Rotate Clockwise: Rotates the document clockwise.
  • Rotate Left, Rotate Counterclockwise: Rotates the document counterclockwise.
  • Zoom to X Percent: Zooms the document by the specified zoom level. For example "Zoom to 150 Percent".
  • Next, Next Result, Next Search Result: Jumps to the next search result.
  • Previous, Previous Result, Previous Search Result: Jumps to the previous search result.
  • Exit Search: Closes the search result field.

Lean Back Mode

What is this?
  • Lean Back Mode: If you lean back, the Adobe Reader switches to reading mode with optimized zoom level with all tool- and statusbars hidden. This mode can also be triggered by the voice command “Lean Back Mode”.
  • Engaged Mode: Leaning forward to engaged mode activates the original state of the application again. This mode can also be triggered by the voice command “Engaged Mode”.

  • Windows User Settings: Currently Windows icon size must be set to 100% (standard setting).
  • Supported Adobe Reader Views: Currently only the "Read" view is supported.
  • NUIA performance: To guarantee a perfect performance make sure that the shortcuts aren't modified.
